The other day I played 18 holes at Lake Chabot. This course is like my arch nemesis. It’s literally 5 minutes away from my house and I pass it by on purpose sometimes. It is very challenging for a 17 handicap like myself. Whatever you want it’s there from Par 3’s to a Par 6. It’s had uphill lies, down hill lies, lies below your feet, and lies above your feet. One minute you’re in the sand and the next minute you could be looking for your ball in the woods. With all that said I still love this course. If you don’t know I am a budget golfer aka the [deal seeker] so I snagged a sweet little deal off their website for $22 for 18 hole and cart. Because I’m a single I always get paired with other people, which is cool because I love meeting new people. This particular day I played with 2 retired stockbrokers [Ben & Kevin] who had me laughing the whole time. They argued about what to buy and sell the whole round and I soaked it all up. Even though I shot an 89 I still had fun watching them slice and hook the ball all over the course. Depending on what day you go the course could take anywhere from 3 to 5 hours but we finished in under 4 hours. It’s pretty much a great public course, which was built in 1923 with a very diverse layout. Lastly the course has some beautiful views of the Oakland and San Francisco on a clear day. Lake Chabot I love it and hate it.
Par 6 [Dogleg left down hill then uphill to the pin, This hole is massive]
